Sergey Lukyanov

Biography:
Sergey Lukyanov is one of the most very-well known and thought after contemporary Russian Artists. Sergey was born in 1964 in Necklace city, Moscow suburbs. In 1988 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. He worked at the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov in the graphics department. Since 1989 he is a regular participant in numerous national and international exhibitions. Sergey Lukyanov is a Member of USSR Artists Union. His paintings demonstrate great talent and abstract imagination powerfully expressed in a unique style via striking symbolic form to be interpreted liberally. His works always feature the element of surprise and have deep roots into philosophical contexts. Philosophical truth is exposed in his paintings by stripping ordinary objects of their normal significance, in order to create a compelling image that is beyond usual formal organization, trying to evoke compassion from the viewer and to elevate the humble and the ordinary over the ideal. “Our entire surrounding world has diversity of life. And each layer has its own architecture, its symphony of characters. Everything is symbolic! Expressing the invisible world of man can be done only intuitively using allegories, symbols and signs. The picture may show only one facet of a character, as it is multifaceted, often completely inexplicable. Letters themselves are abstract, but with the addition of derived words, sentences, expressed thoughts, describe the life". His works have been acquired by the Semipalatinsk State Museum of Fine Arts, in galleries and private collections in Russia, USA and Europe.
